Ethos has taken issue with having only 10 posts per day. Creating a new or another account would grant him more posts.
You don't suppose..................................
NAH!! Forget it.
i had been studying with the jehovah's witnesses for the last couple years.
they have been interesting study sessions and have learned quite a bit about them and their beliefs.
much of what they teach is what i had learned through personal bible study.. growing up was normal.

i agreed yesterday to engage in the '607' topic.
i've read numerous threads and am well aware that this topic has been addressed and dissected quite thoroughly.
therefore, if you are uninterested in participating, that's fine.
A lot to chew on, aye there Ethos?
30 that seems to put jw's at a cross-roads?
i've known so many who have decided to abandon ship at either the age of 30 or either after 30 years of being baptized.
i fall into the former category.
WOW! The idea of the OP is eerie, yet awesome! I have indeed noticed it to be true myself.
I woke up at 28 years of age. Know when I gave up all my WT privileges? 30!
Strange pattern, but I have also seen it with a few family members as well as a few other friends that were/are JWs.
They may not be completely out of the org, like myself, but mentally have checked out - 30 and out.

which is better in your estimation?
hit the borg with a d.a.
letter or do the slow fade.
BUMPing this beauty of a thread.
I have chosen a slow fade. I honestly haven't contemplated DAing. But I am not afraid to "lose" JW friends as I have never had an issue making friends anywhere.
My fade is more for the sake of my wife who overall has been quite understanding in my change of beliefs. We are a fairly well known and well liked couple. Most people don't know my situation. They just assume things are still grand with me in the WT paradise. My wife is still a fairly solid believer and is active, but kind of does her own thing.
By slow fading, I still get fun weekend getaways with "friends", with whom my wife feels more comfortable presently. I am pretty laid back wherever I am at, regardless of the presence of JWs or not. I just find myself getting more and more annoyed at the silly "spiritual" conversations.
So at this point, slow fading gives me the best of both worlds, and in particular, because I haven't had to be a regular meeting attender to receive the "association" benefits.
Oh, and great thread Black Man, even 11 years later!

Here in the video below you can see what the OP is talking about.
in a discussion with some other dear ones, the question was asked as to what such ones put their faith in.
in response to one comment that"one can't function without faith," another disagreed, stating ones can, that "many do so every day... the ones who have trust" (in things like the sun rising in the east versus the west).
that trust extended to "faith" based "on nature and the natural order of things.
LOL AGuest. Just trying to loosen up the tension in these last few pages.

I really hope I'm not derailing this thread by posting the picture below.
my dad heard from the co who heard from a do that heard from his brother-in-law that heard from the friend of a governing body's wife, that the gb is getting very concerned that "the friends" are losing sight of the nearness of the panda-petting paradise.
many of these friends are also looking too critically at the "spiritual food" provided by the "faithful slave class.".
don't tell anyone else, but i hear that the gb has begun testing something new on some of the sheeple.
LOL Billy! I love this thread!
the magazine sabado (saturday) launched yesterday (11/22/2012) an issue where the unknown world of jehovah's witnesses .
is revealed, and not for the bestreasons.
from the false prophecies, doctrinal inconsistencies, pedophilia and absurd prohibitions .
Muito bom!
Very good!
